“DC’s first Mobility Innovation District (The MID), spearheaded by the Southwest Business Improvement District (SWBID), has officially launched its public transit program for Southwest DC and parts of the Navy Yard neighborhood with Circuit Rideshare.

The MID’s Circuit Rideshare program provides purpose-driven transportation services, utilizing a fleet of eight electric vehicles (EVs) and advanced transit technology to offer safe, accessible, efficient, and eco-friendly rides to users within the Southwest neighborhood. The program operates on a mobile app, enabling users to easily request rides and enjoy the convenience of on-demand transportation at a FREE rate through July and $2 a ride thereafter. (more…)

Councilmember Brooke Pinto wrote in response to a Sports Illustrated article:

“A thriving Capitol One arena in the center of Downtown DC cannot be taken for granted. It is also vital for the economic recovery of our city. We must all stand together to ensure @MonSportsNet continue to call DC home.”

Sports Illustrated wrote: “Monumental Sports & Entertainment—the group that owns the Wizards and Capitals, as well as the Mystics—has reportedly spoken to governmental officials about potentially moving the two teams from Washington D.C. to Northern Virginia”

So if, God forbid, any of those teams moved – would you still support them? Would you travel to Crystal City/Ballston/Northern Virginia to catch a game live?

“The Phillips Collection has been awarded Bank of America’s 2023 Art Conservation Project Grant for the conservation of two paintings by the influential French artist Paul Cézanne (1839-1906). Seminal to the permanent collection of America’s first museum of modern art, Cézanne’s Mont Sainte-Victoire (1886-1887) and Self-Portrait (1878-1880)—which are in constant demand for exhibitions and loans—are receiving extensive treatment for the first time in forty-five years. Their conservation will transform the appearance of the two compositions, revealing their strength currently obscured by deteriorated varnishes, while also affording scholars the opportunity to examine the artist’s process in the process.
