“Dear PoPville,
I wanted to flag a weird situation that unfolded on my doorstep last night (Monday) and see if anyone else has had this happen. A little past 9pm a man came to our door and rang the doorbell a couple of times (which seemed kind of aggressive, especially considering we have one of those signs on our door asking people not to ring the bell bc of the sleeping baby). When we answered the door the man claimed to be from DC Air Quality Control and said that he was following up on a request made about our address. He seemed to be hinting that someone had lodged a complaint that we were responsible for. He quickly flashed a badge but it was dark and he never identified himself by name.
Nothing about this seemed legit so we asked him to leave and told him (more…)
