Update: Nama Ko closed for good at 14th and U St, NW

Nama Ko opened here in September 2022.

Update: Closed for good.

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve been trying to make a reservation at Nama Ko and they are showing no availability for any party size for any date for any time in the next several months… I have also called several times and nobody has picked up nor returned my messages. The last OpenTable review someone left was dated 4/13 and I last ate there (and made a reservation) on 3/27. Was not sure if you had heard anything about it being closed? Also sent them a DM but never heard back…”

Nama Ko’s website is still active and says:

“Nama Ko is a Japanese-inspired restaurant and craft cocktail bar by James Beard award winning chef Michael Schlow and executive chef Derek Watson, where honored Japanese techniques and innovative twists live side by side in perfect harmony. Nama Ko also offers a full sushi menu – whether at the sushi bar or in the dining room. Finish your meal with Nama Ko’s soft serve ice cream & sorbet from pastry chef Alex Levin. While enjoying your meal, also check out Nama Ko’s collection of Japanese whiskeys and sakes, and craft cocktails.

Experience the unexpected.”

1926 14th Street, NW previously home to a Domino’s!! back in 2011 and more recently was home to Tico before Nama Ko

Stay tuned.

Join local sketch comedy legends (in our own minds) Brick Penguin for an evening of live, dark, rip-roaring sketch comedy. See D.C.’s longest-running sketch comedy group do what they do best, when they’re not performing across the country in places such as the terrifying Philadelphia, the gooey Chicago, the M&M Store-y New York City, and the crunchy Seattle.

Now, our last show may or may not have mentioned Taylor Swift, and we may have gotten into some trouble from confused Swifties who thought they scored a $15 ticket to a Taylor Swift concert. So, to apologize and clear up any confusion, we’ve decided to dedicate another show to her. We promise she might or might not appear this time.
