From Columbia Room:

Columbia Room will reopen its Spirits Library on Wednesday, June 23, marking the first time the award-winning bar has operated indoors since March 2020. The Spirits Library will join Columbia Room’s Spritz Garden, which encompasses its outdoor spaces (rooftop and ground-level streatery), in welcoming guests to its Blagden Alley home.

Menus available in the Spirits Library, currently available in the Spritz Garden as well, will offer classic Columbia Room cocktails including

the Suit & Tie (Bruichladdich Classic Laddie Scotch, cane sugar, berry-infused sherry vinegar, aromatic and mole bitters); spritzes and Italian aperitif cocktails including the Watermelon Americano (Campari, Dolin Blanc, watermelon soda); spirit-free cocktails including the NA Getaway (Chinotto, maple shrub, lemon, aquafaba, salt tincture); new summer additions including the Frozen Marg inspired by the famous Tommy’s Margarita (Altos Reposado, amontillado, salted agave, lime); and snacks such as Caramelized Shallot Dip. Full menus can be viewed here.

Reservations, which are limited to 2 hours per party, are available now via Tock. The Spirits Library will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 5 PM to last call at 11:30 PM.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
