DC actually does have a few real Brownstones. Per the original building permits, this home, as well as 634, 636, and 638 C St NE were designed by architect George S. Cooper, and built by Cyrus Mantz.

Cooper was known for designing houses throughout the city, as well as in Chevy Chase Village, Maryland. Several of the properties he designed are currently on the National Register of Historic places, including the then apartment buildings, now condo and co-op ownership, The Hawarden and Gladstone on the 1400 block of R Street NW.

There have been a total of 10 fee simple homes settled within 1/10th of a mile of this property since the beginning of 2017, ranging in price from $679,000. to $1,800,000.

The listing agents for this property were Jeanne Harrison and Phil Guire with Compass (per above disclosure, the same brokerage company as the writer). Stacy Hennessey with McEnearney Associates, Inc. represented the Buyer in the purchase of this property.
