“Dear PoPville,

I filled out the DC voter registration form, signed and scanned it, and emailed it to the contact that it said in the email, but never got any response… Does anyone know if you just assume your registered, or should I get a confirmed response at some point?

From an email:

“The Carlos Rosario School is hosting a Voter Registration and Education Fair from 5:00-7:30pm. We’ll have local artists and musicians, free food from Los Hermanos, activities for the whole family, voter resources and even a practice voting booth. Community partners like Mary’s Center, GALA Theater, OLA and DC Board of Elections will be here, too. Join us at 1100 Harvard Street NW in Columbia Heights and celebration National Voter Registration Day.”

Also:

“Today is National Voter Registration Day and we invite you to join us for the first ever “Hillary Con” this Friday, September 30th from 7-10pm at Town Tavern to kick-off voter registration weekend!

The idea started because we wanted amidst all the election crazy an event that celebrates Hillary as the best candidate for President, but also everything she has done for women (i.e. pantsuits) and we wanted to hold it an a woman owned bar. We found a great partner in Gracie, owner of Town Tavern who offered us the opportunity to turn our event into a low low low dollar fundraiser.

Get your ticket now for entry & specials:
$5 Online/Eventbrite, $10 At The Door!
Drink Specials Galore. Raffles. Best Dressed Hillary Contest & More..

All of that money will be donated to Vote.org, a fantastic non-profit that has already registered hundreds of thousands of new voters via its online voter registration tools.

COME ON OUT & ROCK THAT PANTSUIT!!

The Vision:

Hillaries drinking.
Hillaries in dress suits.
Hillaries in pants suits.

Nice Hillaries. Mean Hillaries.
Hilliaries being however they wanna be.

Dress as Hillary and/or come hang out with others dressed like Hillary to kick off Voter Registration weekend!! Of course we’ll be also making sure folks are registered to vote.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
