  • Ahhh, rabbits, I remember those. Now I see lots of rats and stray cats, but no bunnies. Sad.

    • Same. Reminds me of growing up in the Midwest; car headlights swinging into the drive after dark and lots of little rabbits being frozen in the beams before furiously hopping off.

  • Blithe

I’ve seen several rabbits in Friendship Heights and Tenleytown this spring, when rabbit sightings used to be quite rare. I’m not blase about them yet though.

  • Yeah, that’s a very recent development in the neighborhood, and a very welcome one! I guess they’ve been breeding like, well, you know.

  • I’m pretty sure the District Dept of Energy and Env. is doing a rabbit study. Or at least they were anyway. The asked if residents see any to fill this form out:

  • I used to weed the flowerbeds without complaint (ok, less complaint than usual) because there was a pretty good chance I’d find a baby cottontail tucked in there somewhere. Now I never see them, which is sad for my kids.

  • These are NPR rabbits, instead of K2 rabbits like your old neighborhood.
