  • I toured this place when it was for sale about two and a half years ago. I swear a hoarder lived there. We didn’t walk through for more than a few minutes. It looks like a lot of the same furniture is still there except that things have been cleaned up considerably.

  • It was sold two years ago, so it is not the same owner

  • Nice space, but it looks like a kindergarten classroom. I know people get really into their kids, but you’re still adults. I don’t think I could live with that many pastels and goofy paintings on the walls.
It would show a lot better and appeal to a broader spectrum of potential renters if they re-painted. Even people with older kids won’t want all that kiddie decor.

  • I don’t get the kiddie decor comment? Looks like the owners like modern furniture and decor to me. Love the big backyard. But wow– is this what houses are renting for in Brookland these days?

  • Me either. I looked at the photos three times to see if there was something I was missing. I personally don’t care for dark walls or beige walls.

  • The wall art and curtains almost certainly don’t convey, and while I might not have selected the colors myself the pale blue in the bathroom and the yellow in the kitchen hardly seem like an elementary school color theme. This comment might apply to some listings where the bedrooms have giant Winnie the Poo murals, but not to this house.

This would appeal to me MUCH more as a renter than standard off-white walls. It would make me think the landlord might be amenable to me repainting some rooms to more suit my taste, I’ve never lived in a rental with landlord cream paint where that was possible. If that wasn’t possible, these colors are pretty inoffensive and better than every room being sterile white.
