1348 H Street, NE
In October we first learned Red Rocks Pizza would be opening another restaurant at 1348 H St, NE. Renovations have been progressing nicely and they’ve recently applied for a liquor license:
“New Full Service Restaurant and Bar serving Neapolitan Pizza and a DJ on the 2nd Floor.
Seating Capacity is 281, total occupancy load is 370. Summer Garden with 76 seats.”
Should be a great addition for springtime, when they hope to open.

Can't help but think of Stefon from SNL...This place has everything!
No other pizza establishment is as good as Red Rocks in Columbia Heights. And no other type of pizza (NY, deep dish, etc) compares to Neapolitan done right.
I might be in the minority, but Red Rocks is overrated. Just too soggy. Love the atmosphere, but the pizza? eh
Sweet! I’ve been wondering what is going in that building! Plus it’ll be great to have another option with outdoor seating, which is very limited on H St!
I was suppose to be a lounge, but I guess they backed out.
Ha Ha, correction.
*IT was suppose to be a lounge…
Summer Garden is a misnomer, if they’re going to be using it at different times of the year.
I think that’s just Dcra language.
Yep, and just like DCRA, it is archaic.
Haha. Can’t argue against that.
Might have been a one off but the worst service I’ve ever had in DC was at Red Rocks in Columbia Heights.
What happened?
Absolutely inattentive waitress who had an awful attitude when she did stop by our table. Someone else actually approached her and asked if they could have another server and she said no! Very strange.
I think I know who you’re talking about. Is it the rough-looking lady with the distinctive, annoying laugh? The last time I was there, she spent more time telling her co-workers about how much she drank last night and how hungover she was than she did with her customers.
No, this was a young girl. Whatevs.
Hopefully this actually opens on time. It seems like so many places on H announce openings, then you don’t hear anything for months (I’m looking at you, Impala Cantina!)
seems like it takes about year to open from the time of conception, at least on H
Not the best pizza in the world, but certainly not the worst either. I think this will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
What does “total occupancy load” mean?
The maximum number of people who are permitted to occupy a given space at the same time.
Best of luck to them! Always have a good time at the one in CH. Wish they had a little more creativity in the menu but with opening such a HUGE location like this, I’m hoping it will happen.
