I’m not very familiar with this area, but this seems like a decent deal for a real one bedroom. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, and the pool are nice perks. I’m digging the built-ins.

  • Seems like a good price, as long as you’re ok taking the bus or have a car.

    • And even having a car while living in McLean Gardens can be something of a hassle, if you don’t have a pass to park in one of their (frequently empty) parking lots. Street parking there fills up quickly in the evening.

    • But Dupont Circle is only an 8-minute drive away! Seems very well connected to the rest of the city if you ask me.

  • Awfully creative definition of Cleveland Park

    • Well technically, this area is very much Cleveland Park. McLean Gardens is no more the name of a neighborhood than Van Ness is. It’s just the name of a rather large old suburban-style apartment complex.

  • I used to live there. Nice units, but the condo regs on padding for your carpets and such are burdensome. Parking is also a pain.

If this unit is leased by Joanne Flanders run away quickly.

  • This is a steal, particularly if you’re looking for quiet/family oriented/pet friendly neighborhood. I really don’t think parking is a hassle (I’m a pet sitter in this neighborhood); that is if you don’t expect to park right in front of your building.

I’ve always wondered why McLean gardens gets a sideways glance from PoPers – not all of us want to live right in the middle of things. Some of us want a little bit of quiet or like being surrounded by trees, etc.

  • Wow, it’s in-boundary for Eaton, I’m going to rent it just for my kid’s early education! Very cool!
