Corehaus Designs Coming to 825 Upshur St., NW
Corehaus will be opening up next week in the former Shaka King space located at 825 Upshur St (near Domku). The owner, James Kerns, was extremely nice and succinctly characterized the business as “taking old stuff and making it cool again”. While the finishing touches were still being completed I was able to take some photos and the items do indeed look pretty cool. This is Mr. Kerns first brick and mortar store, but you can see his Web site here.
This is a great addition to the block along with Bentley’s across the street.

Would love to open a antiques hunt club at my spread out in Crumpton MD near Dixon’s Auction, Mr. Kerns looks like he’d be a great founding member from the looks of his store….
Ah that new American classic look, it would be nice if they brought in some men’s (and women’s) clothes to compliment the look. Work shirts. Selvedge denim. Along the lines of The Field House in Seattle.

Is this open yet? I emailed the owner about seeing stuff in his Monroe location but never heard back. I want to check this out but don’t want to make the trek only to see it is not yet open! Thanks!
