Checking in on Pop Ups and a Sad (Sorta) City Sign

Here’s the pop up on the 1300 block of Oak Street, NW. Here’s what it looked like in January. It looks a lot better than I thought it would:

  • I like that there’s still the old gutter stuck right in the middle of the wall. Do you think the porch is supporting any of the weight of the bay? If so, I would imagine it needs more than those 4X4 posts.

  • I try to stay positive when commenting on PoP, and that is positively awful.

  • Two thumbs way up! Can’t wait to see the finished result.

  • It looks exactly the same.

  • yeah, i don’t see how we can judge that pop-up yet. there’s still quite a bit of work to be done. for example, the windows could really make or break this one…

  • Prince Of Petworth

@Joseph Hovsep you have to click on the hyper link “looked like” to see the change.

  • I think it’s one of the best pop-ups I’ve seen

  • The standing seam (metal) mansard roof is a + . Certainly the 4 x4s will be changed as they would not pass building permit structural review. No snide comments about DCRA this time, please.

  • I like it so far, but I wish the roof of the bay windows was fancier.
