This is the newly refurbished spot next to Marvin on 14th and U. I ran into one of the construction managers who told me the name of this spot will be Patty Boom Boom. It’ll be a night club/restaurant. The construction manager told me that it still has a long ways to go before it opens. I’ll update as more info becomes available.

this is great! welcome back!
Hope you get her back soon
Unfortunately, many of the older residents would prefer empty storefronts over anything...
I had a Yorkie and it pains me to recall thoughts of when my see you next Tuesday gf left...
I hope your prayers are answered.

Different building than you discovered before, no?
Hmm, good call. I thought the name sounded familiar. But that’s def. a different location. I’ll have to go back and see what’s up with the spot next to State of the Union.
This new Patty Boom Boom location and the old location are adjoining properties; maybe Patty will take up the entire frontage you see here:

Love the name!
Patty Boom Boom is to be the new place by the Marvin ownership. Jamaican food and cool beats. It will be in the building on the right in the photo Marco posted, next to the alley beside the old State of the Union.
Marco – Thanks for pointing that out.
That corner used to be such an eye sore, it’s nice to see that it was finally renovated.
With the amount of foot traffic in this general vicinity, I am just surprised that it has taken so long to see some development.
The next hot location could be the vacant building directly across the street from Metro on the corner of 13th and U. The right business concept in that particular location will thrive.
GOG gurus lists Patty Boom Boom as coming to 1359 U street, the building that Anon points out: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/goingoutgurus/2009/01/coming_soon_bars_opening_in_20.html
However, I was looking at this and the other property’s building permits yesterday as well, and I believe they are owned/being renovated by two different companies. I’ll do more research and post info on my blog.
