“Dear PoPville,
I was walking in Dupont on 21st and P today (1/5) and noticed that the Valley Brook Tea shop closed! No signs and the space was cleared out. I saw that they moved to a temporary location in the Ven at Embassy Row Hotel around the corner.
I hope they survive since the shop is run by such a lovely couple and we desperately need tea places in the area!!”

Katherine asked us on Twitter and got a pretty passionate response: “Any recommendations for tea places in DC? Asking for myself.”
The most were given for Calabash, Ching Ching Cha, Teaism, Sidamo, The Wydown, Grace Street Coffee and The Line Hotel.
Any other good spots out there?

It may surprise a few folks, since I’m such a huge advocate of Dunkin Donuts coffee, Columbia Heights Coffee, and Coffee spots in general, that I’m also quite fond of an occasional cup of tea. I saw this sign at 1332 9th Street and I’m wondering if anyone has purchased tea here before? It looks legit.

Where are the best hidden spots?
