Valley Brook Tea Moved around the corner inside The Ven at Embassy Row Hotel

“Dear PoPville,

I was walking in Dupont on 21st and P today (1/5) and noticed that the Valley Brook Tea shop closed! No signs and the space was cleared out. I saw that they moved to a temporary location in the Ven at Embassy Row Hotel around the corner.

I hope they survive since the shop is run by such a lovely couple and we desperately need tea places in the area!!”

2015 Massachusetts Ave, NW

From Valley Brook Tea:

“We’re moving to a temporary location inside The Ven at Embassy Row Hotel at 2015 Massachusetts Ave NW. We will reopen on this Friday, January 6th. We’ll be there for the next 2 months while we continue to figure out the future of Valley Brook Tea.

Because it’s a hotel space, we’ll have shorter hours between 10:30am to 5:00pm to begin with. Our tea lovers will be able to continue enjoying their favorite tea products and tea pastries at our new location.

The reason for the move is quite a story. We hope to provide a full explanation in the future.”

Sweet City Ride

Thanks to Kate for sending: “Pontiac with great pop-up lights” Sweet City Ride is made possible by readers like you!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
