“Dear PoP,

Like a lot of your readers my office opens/closes according to the federal government schedule. What do your readers think the odds are for us to have to go to work on Monday? What about Tuesday? With another possible storm on the way Wednesday I’m wondering if some miracle might get us out of work Monday-Friday!

What day do your readers think we will have to go back to work?”

I’m guessing folks will have to go back to work on Tuesday. What do you guys think?

“Dear Prince of Petworth,

I wanted to let you know, that the I, “The Sultan of Coho” declare war on you and your kingdom. You will see from our newly complete fortress that you have much to fear. 3551 13th st nw is the center of power in this town.”

I accept your challenge and will defend my honor as soon as I can raise my army who for some reason don’t seem to be returning my calls at the moment… It’s on!

Thanks to Chuck for sending the above photo from Mass. Ave. I only saw a couple trees down myself. Have you guys seen any trees down? If you do, remember to call 311.

It’s wild a few readers sent in the exact same photo above. Andrew writes:

“I thought you might be interested in this picture of the shelves in the meat department of the Columbia Heights Giant last night. Things had calmed down by nine, but it looked as if the neighborhood thought aliens were going to invade or something.”

Thanks to a couple of readers for sending in these shots. And below John writes:

“Here’s some pictures of a Cop car stuck on R st near 1st. Neighbors helped push it out. Crazy.”

It was nice to see so many folks helping each other out.

Thanks to all the readers who sent in photos of this under-reported battle. I saw lots of news about the Dupont fight (a comparison photo after the jump) but heard very little of the Meridian Hill one. I stopped by Meridian Hill and in addition to this great battle there was also snow football, sledding and a general good time.

Once again, Holy Crap! Nicholas writes in a comment:

“There is a hook-and-ladder truck stuck right in front of my house (7th & Gallatin). A freakin’ fire truck – with chains – and multiple firemen and residents trying to get it out. To no avail. Waiting for a wrecker now. Insanity. #snOMFG.”

SNOWSANITY!
