After accepting the fact that I am a hypocrite I thought I’d embrace “cool” city posters. You know you see these posters on light poles, news boxes, etc. I like this one for a show at the Blackcat this coming Sunday.

Big props to Nani’s for replacing their temporary sign with this nice proper one. Be sure to check them out if you live in the Park View Neighborhood. They are located at Sherman and Harvard and make a mean cappuccino…

Mount Rainer, MD? What the hell is in Mount Rainier, MD? Seems a bit arbitrary is all I’m saying.

I may not completely support the message but I completely support the sound of the message: “Funk the war”.

It just sounds cool. “Why, I live in the NCBA Estates, of course!”. Very dignified. This is why I like the fact that I live in a place called Riverbrook Estate.

The unwanted car market is Bullish. I’m advising sell. I laughed at the $50 offers, and was pretty excited at the $100 offers, but $125 – it is not going to get any better than that. Can it? Tell me I’m going to see a $150 offer. If it reaches $200 we are definitely heading towards a recession. So wait, does that mean the market is Bearish or Bullish? I think I’m sticking with Bullish. No Bearish.

I always wondered why the good folks at Solly’s would never let me leave out of this door.

A reader wants to know:
“How can we get a farmer’s market in Petworth?
Maybe it can be on Upshur St. near Domku. Any suggestions? Soon it will be Spring, and I would prefer not to trek to Dupont, U St. or Takoma for fresh vegetables. On a related matter, is there a group of folks in Petworth that grow vegetables and fruits in their yards? If so, it would be great to connect with everyone. I am just getting ready to get the soil tested and by the looks of it there is a lot of clay! It would be great to exchange tips of what grows well around here and learn from each other!”

No beer before 9 AM? I believe the late great former President Harry S. Truman used to have a shot of whiskey every morning at 8:45 AM and when asked about it, he would reply “It must be noon somewhere”…
