“Dear PoPville,

I went to the Park View Call Your Mother this morning and you could see like 80% of the place inside was empty. They’ve got rid of all the production equipment and setup that used to take up most of the footprint. I’m just really hoping they’re not planning to close it.”

Fear not, it’s just the opposite – the folks from CYM tell me:

“Just getting ready to reopen the inside. About 20 seats. Hoping end of August!

Time to take it back to the good old days!”

Thanks to Aaron for sending from the P Street Whole Foods in Logan Circle:

“Coffee bar gone! Being replaced by a larger customer service area.”

Good call by Whole Foods or big mistake?

From I.M.P.:

“Night after night, The Anthem fills The Wharf with fresh beats, having hosted nearly 3 million fans since it opened in 2017. But for its latest release, The Anthem and its kitchen partners at Eco Caters are bringing something new: fresh frites! Eco Caters serves both artists backstage and fans at concessions at The Anthem, and, starting today, artists, fans, friends, and passersby alike are in for some good eats with the all-new Frites and Greet stand, located just across the walkway from The Anthem, by District Pier.

Serving fresh, hand-cut, European-style frites (like French fries, but better!), the potatoes at this stand have been double-fried to ensure maximum flavor with just the right ratio of crispiness. Each order comes with one free housemade dipping sauce with uniquely musical takes on classics, like Mean Mr. Mustard, Smoke On The Water, or Ranch Against The Machine. With seven different sauces* to choose from, it’s okay to get lost in the sauce, as each additional flavor is only 75 cents. The final piece of the puzzle? Pair the frites with one of three different housemade sparkling lemonades (strawberry, mango, or blackberry) to stay refreshed despite the sweltering summer sun. (more…)
