The guy mentioned in this article from 2021 was staring into our house today (Friday, Nov. 18.)

We recently got our windows switched out and don’t have blinds on them all now. We are the end unit but have several vacants along the alley so typically are not worried about people looking into our house. I went into the downstairs bathroom and he was doing exactly what was described in this. Staring into my house and did nothing until my husband told him to leave. Hat and scarf the whole bit. “Michelin-starred Chef Elias Taddesse, executive chef and owner of DC’s acclaimed Mélange restaurant, will open his Ethiopian-style fried chicken restaurant on November 17th at 11 a.m. (1819 7th Street, NW)

The first 50 in-person guests on the 17th will get a free 2-piece Fried Doro Chicken Plate with Black Cumin Qibe Cornbread and Spiced Mac & Cheese.

Doro Soul Food infuses traditional American soul food with Ethiopian flavors. The restaurant is located in a virtual food hall at 1819 7th Street, NW, blocks from Howard University. Chef Taddesse says he plans to offer a catering menu in the near future.

“Dear PoPville,

There is a storefront beside the Navy Memorial named Fooda. I think it is run by José Andrés. It is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1130 to 2. Each day is a different food vendor with all different types of cuisine. It is a joy. (more…)
