We just had dinner Hanumanh, which I am pretty sure is the most underrated place in DC. It might be because they are only open three nights a week. It might be because they were closed during COVID. Or it might be because the menu posted online has only four dishes, (but in reality there were a ton of choices). Everything we got was AMAZING.

I knew they had been installed, but others didn’t because twice today, cars almost slammed into my driver’s side, trying to get over at the last second and avoid running into these.

Why on earth would DDOT install these pedestrian corrals(?) in the middle of a lane on a busy thoroughfare like 9th Street?

“Dear PoPville,

Wednesday night (10/19) around 6pm, I was stopped by a 6’2” muscular man wearing a blue baseball hat, blue long sleeve shirt, jeans, and a dark puffer vest on the corner of 21st & L Street NW. I had my head buried in my phone when he asked me where to find Peet’s coffee. I told him to try For Five Coffee Roasters.

He told me he just moved to DC from NYC. He kept the focus of the conversation on coffee but was clearly trying to hit on me. He told me that he’s here to take girls like me to coffee. His body language was predator-like: he kept getting closer to me even as I backed away, and when I started to walk away, he stuck out his hand and told me his name. I shook his hand. This was my mistake. He immediately pulled me in and pushed his face against mine. I pushed him away and told him to get off. My mind went blank. (more…)

“Today (Thursday), at around 12:00pm, we were made aware of what appears to be a card skimmer attached to a card reader at a convenience store in the Unit block of Peabody Street, NW. Thankfully, a resident noticed something out of the ordinary when making a purchase and reported it to police immediately. Our members responded to the location and seized the skimmer as evidence. At this time, we have not been made aware of any other incidents in the Fourth District. Our Financial Crimes Unit will be investigating this case further, however, when using a card reader, please be mindful of the following tips: (more…)
