“Today (Thursday), at around 12:00pm, we were made aware of what appears to be a card skimmer attached to a card reader at a convenience store in the Unit block of Peabody Street, NW. Thankfully, a resident noticed something out of the ordinary when making a purchase and reported it to police immediately. Our members responded to the location and seized the skimmer as evidence. At this time, we have not been made aware of any other incidents in the Fourth District. Our Financial Crimes Unit will be investigating this case further, however, when using a card reader, please be mindful of the following tips: (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

A female friend and I were walking home along D St NE at around 9:30PM (Tuesday) and started to be followed by a tall man dressed in all black. He tailed us for a few blocks and was stomping loudly to let us know he was behind us. As we turned onto 9th ST NE he started to get closer and make loud grunting noises while stomping. (more…)

“Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Health announced that the District’s three monkeypox clinics will transition to walk-up only services beginning Friday, September 23. Eligible individuals will no longer need to pre-register for monkeypox vaccinations and will be able to visit any of the three DC Health monkeypox clinics for their first or second dose. (more…)
