“Dear PoPville,
I’m a resident on H St NE and I’d like to bring public notice to the chaos that is the No Parking/Loading zone outside the Giant on 3rd and H. About half of the block between H and I is designated as a No Parking or Loading zone, primarily because the Giant Loading dock opens to 3rd and large delivery trucks need ample clear space to maneuver and back in. “Dear PoPville,
I counted 11(!) booted cars this morning between N Capitol and Tuckerman and N Capitol and Van Buren Streets yesterday morning. And at lunchtime, there are 3 tow trucks in the area towing booted cars away. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for five years and have never seen parking enforcement near our house. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I own a parking space behind my building. It is deeded with my condo. I woke up this morning to find a notice that DC water will be taking it over for at least 2 days next week as a construction staging area. I didn’t get any notice other than finding this sign in my parking spot. (more…)

Thanks to L. for sending from her Columbia Heights parking garage: “Seems a bit aggressive but…”

I have also used the app twice to get digital permits with no trouble. My current house sitter, who is visiting from AL, is registered via the Park DC Permits app, but in the last week she has twice gotten parking tickets, from the same officer. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
My wife’s car was parked on R near 16th, and we found this note on the windshield, nicely wrapped in a plastic bag on a rainy day. And the car in front of us had Maryland plates too!”

From MPD:

In conjunction with this event, North Carolina Avenue between 6th Street and 8th Street, Southeast, will be posted as Emergency No Parking and closed to vehicular traffic from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I’ve been a DC resident for about six years. Preparing to sign my lease for my next apartment building, and came across an unexpected provision in the contract. Regarding parking (the building has a garage):
“Residents and/or Occupants are prohibited from participating in the Residential Parking Permit (“RPP”) Program through the District of Columbia, including, but not limited to, applying for or obtaining an RPP. Should Resident and/or Occupants either seek to obtain by application or actually obtain an RPP, that would constitute a serious and material breach of the lease, (more…)
