ICYMI, March 8th 2024: District Chophouse closes after 25+ years in Gallery Place/Penn Quarter.

For a hot second the space was planned on becoming Lagos DC, “serving West African cuisine”…

Whilst checking on an Amazon delivery for a package today, Amazon also provides a map of the delivery location. That map also reflected a place called “Bourbon Boulevard DC” along 7th St NW, at the previous location of the District Chophouse and Brewery – which closed a few years ago. ICYMI: July 29, 2021 – Check outs some great photos of Capa Tosta, recently opened on Sherman Ave.

“Dear PoPville,

When you go to the Capa Tosta‘s website it has this message on it saying that it is closed. Looks like it may be changing to an Ulivo restaurant similar to the one they have in NYC.”

‘Capa Tosta is Closed.  Ulivo is Opening Soon. We’ll be opening our doors with a brand new name, look, and feel in the new year.’ (more…)

Well this is wild. A liquor license placard for Dos Locos has been applied for at 3116 Mount Pleasant Street, NW – which is currently home to the long standing Mount Pleasant institution – Dos Gringos. When I walked by the placard wasn’t actually posted and a worker looked at my like I was crazy when I asked if they’d heard about it.
