“Dear PoPville,
I’ve lived in DC for almost 30 years . DC brought out the activist in me, but I’m also a lawyer who has had and has a very serious job.
On the Fourth of July, I decided to hang the flag I have upside down outside my front window. That flag was given to me after I was a law clerk (during law school) for Senator Leahy on the Senate Judiciary Committee. They fly it above the Capitol (probably for like one second, but still).
In addition, I took a gamble and put a small table on my curb with a sign that said “What do you want for America?” I left paper and markers. People responded!! And they keep responding, so I’m leaving it out. (more…)
