“Our cat went missing on Sunday afternoon. I’ve contact the Humane Society and Shaw Listserv but we are trying to get as many eyes on the lookout in the neighborhood as possible.

Misty is a three year old long haired white cat with large gray spots. Misty is part of the Humane Society’s CatNIPP Program, so his left ear has been clipped.

Misty never strays far from our home at 5th and O Street and NEVER misses a meal, so we are very worried.

“Dear PoPville,

This morning my friend woke up to a pushed in window and both of her cats missing. One cat was quickly found, but Penelope is still out there. 10 pound female tabby might be a bit skittish. Is also microchipped. Penelope lives at 9th and T Sts NW and her humans are putting up flyers, leaving out food, etc. If anyone in the Shaw/ U St area sees Penelope or a cat that looks at all similar, please call 410-236-8186.”

“Rosie is an indoor cat (no collar/ no street sense) and managed to get out of our kitchen and into the back alley of our rowhome on 12th Place (and U Street, NW) late last night. She’s shy so i’m pretty certain that she is hiding and scared in someones backyard right now.

If anyone manages to find her can call me at 443-474-4369”

UPDATE
Found!

“Dear PoP,

My cat Simba has been away from home since Sunday afternoon. He is a tan tabby, and is very friendly with people. He goes outside regularly, but he usually returns home in the morning. If we’re not home when he wants to go in, then he usually goes into the basement apartment. But he hasn’t seen him either.

He lives on 13th St., in between Irving and Kenyon. I have walked around looking for him, and I can’t find anything. Also, I called Animal Control and they do not have him.

Again, he is a male, tan tabby, wearing a black collar and has a lil bump above his right eye.”

Please email me princeofpetworth (at) gmail (dot) com with any sightings.

From a reader:

“Long story short – I found an unaltered male tiger wandering around the house on the corner, also 4000 block of New Hampshire. He’s big – maybe 12-15 lbs, can be sweet to me but grumpy to other people, and can be assertive and territorial around dogs – my roommates say he only likes me. He’s litter trained, and well-fed, so I’m wondering if he’s someone’s pet, and hoping you could post on your blog asking if someone’s misplaced an orange tiger, and if so, can they contact me at [email protected]
