Thanks to Rob for sending from 6th and C St, NW:

“Walked right up to him, and he didn’t move for almost a minute. Turns out he was stalking a small mouse, who darted out from under a car soon after, and the hawk hopped after him into the tree box. It was wild.”

“Dear PoPville,

Two very horny raccoons on our front porch who spent the better part of two hours making out and then forming a mini fight club with a third raccoon. Removal suggestions welcome as they seem to have taken refuge under our porch.”

Thanks to Scott for sending:

“I spotted this hawk a block from Lincoln Park in NE DC (Capitol Hill). The hawk first circled a tree and then swooped in and grabbed a squirrel in its talons. The hawk was unable to hold on to the squirrel and dropped it into a front yard. The squirrel fell into some ivy and was out of sight. The hawk sat on this fence for a while, trying to spot the squirrel, but then gave up and flew away. Pretty amazing scene.”

“On my walk to work this morning, saw animal control trying to catch a deer at 21st and R. I left before I could see what happened, but I last saw him darting up 21st towards R/Florida Ave.

Curious if anyone else knows what happened to him!”

At 21 and R
