I was feeling a little under the weather yesterday when I went to the post office at Kansas and Chillum. While at the counter things took a sudden turn for the worse, I became flush and disoriented. “Dear PoPville,
Last fall, I was at The Wydown on H Street NE, and my bike lock broke. I propped up the lock, but when another rider locked up their bike next to me, the ruse was exposed and the pieces fell apart on the street. The rider came into Wydown, apologized (he didn’t need to!), and mentioned that he could run home and grab a spare bike lock for me. He VERY kindly did so. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
My best friend’s dad was on United Flight 2640, from Chicago to DCA, on Tuesday afternoon in seat 11C. During the flight he suffered what appeared to be a seizure and the young man sitting next to him called for help and was adamant that this was a life threatening situation. When they landed at DCA he was taken off the plane by the airport EMS team and rushed to GW Hospital. (more…)

My friend Courtney who is 81 years old, was about to get a cab on March 10 in the corner of Columbia rd and Ontario rd. A car that was parked went en reverse and hit her, she is ok. She wants to thank the good people that helped her to get up, get her cane and assisted her to go back home. She appreciates the kind gesture, hopefully the good neighbors will know she is doing good thanks to their help.”

The guys from The Daily Rider on H Street (600 H St, NE) recognized my bike from the footage and photos I’d posted when someone brought it in to be fixed (it was either broken by the person/people who stole it, or by the person who bought my stolen bike), checked the serial number on Bike Index where I’d registered it as stolen, and called the police.
