1825 14th Street, NW

Masa 14 opened up back 2009 – go down memory lane here, many ups and downs.

Big news for 14th Street. Back in January we posted some scuttlebutt wondering if Masa 14’s days were numbered. We need wonder no more. Bummer from the Cleveland Park listserv:

“I was at Cafe Deluxe last night [Wednesday] enjoying $8 burger night when the server informed me that the restaurant will be closing in 25 days. Apparently the landlord wanted to increase the rent substantially. This is a big loss for the neighborhood in my opinion!”

Ed. Note: I’ve emailed Cafe Deluxe for more details but haven’t heard back yet. We judged them back in 2011. You can see their menu here. Updates as more is known.

Litteri for years they are opening their own restaurant called Nostra Cucina, located at at 320 D St NE on Capitol Hill. The family is really nice. This location was previously a Mexican-Italian Restaurant called Bistro Italiano.” (more…)
