Update from One Medical: “We require patients to register for One Medical in order to create them a patient chart and easily communicate with our care team. Please register through the link provided by your local DPH.”

Emma asks: “I got an appointment at one of the One Medical locations and it’s making me register for One Medical? Does this seem right? anyone else having this problem?”

For those who got in through One Medical were you prompted for a 90 day free trial or other registration? Were there any fees involved?

Rick writes: “I booked a vaccine appointment through DC Health at Entertainment and Sports Arena operated by One Medical. I was required to sign up for a One Medical account (more…)

Ed. Note: They’ll be another chance Saturday for those in priority zip codes (see below) due to yesterday’s malfunction.

Some early reports from this morning: “and today the Captcha is broken.”

“DC has got to do something different with this vaccination portal. Who is being held accountable for this ongoing failure?!”

“Captcha not working on DC vaccination website. Keeps telling me it’s incorrect when it isn’t. Happened three times now.”

“The perks of knowing http errors: got through past 1 page of the DC Covid Vaccine system and got a 503 error (system is overloaded or down). Cool cool cool cool.”

“Made it past the captcha and got this” (above)

Thanks to those who messaged:

“Dear Calvert Woodley Community,⁣

We just learned that two of our colleagues tested positive for COVID-19, after being exposed to the virus through someone outside the store. The two team members had very little contact with customers or other members of the CW staff.⁣

For the safety of our team and our customers, we are closing the store immediately and will remain closed until our entire team has been COVID tested. We also contracted with a deep cleaning company to disinfect the store, February 25. (more…)

Good news from Mari Vanna:

“My dear friends,

As you all know, last spring Mari Vanna closed its doors. It was a very sad time for our DC team, and we were sad to be missing from your lives at such trying times.

Why did this happen? Because, despite trying their best, the franchise holders could not weather the pandemic. We know many thought that this is the sad end for Mari Vanna’s beloved home in DC.

But Mari Vanna’s core team has never been the ones to shy away from a challenge. (more…)

Thanks to all who’ve messaged us:

“I’m eligible for the vaccine based on zip code, health and occupation, so of course I clicked to register at exactly 9am today.

At the end, I got a message saying “Thank you, […] registration is only open for those 65 and older”. No appointment, no find a location page.

Anyone else have this (incorrect) message at the end? Not sure what to do without registering multiple times trying to get to a correct page.”

Updated response from a reader: “Thank you for contacting DC Health. We are aware of the technological error and are working diligently to resolve it. At this time, please continue to monitor the website and book your appointment via https://vaccinateqa.dc.gov/”

From WMATA:

“The public comment period for Metro’s Fiscal Year 2022 budget is officially open, and Metro’s Board of Directors wants your feedback. Metro is encouraging anyone impacted by changes in this budget to make their voice heard before the comment period ends at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16.

Metro is facing a significant budget shortfall due to a decrease in ridership caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, with ridership down about 90 percent and 60 percent on Metrorail and Metrobus, respectively. Federal relief funding has allowed Metro to avoid layoffs, continue providing essential travel service, and prepare for transit ridership to return. However, even with the additional federal funding and management actions such as limiting the use of contractors and shrinking Metro’s workforce by attrition, there is not enough money to fill the entire budget gap for the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2021. Big news from the Adams Morgan BID, thanks to John for passing on:

“PSA: Dan’s Cafe in #AdamsMorgan is reopening their doors on Fri & Sat evenings! @PitchersDC has generously allowed them to use their menu to comply with food rules. So glad we could help them navigate the rules to reopen safely! Welcome back!”

Dan’s Cafe originally planned to reopen during phase three. Hopefully these legends get some patio seating out front too.
