As we re-open for contactless takeout and delivery in the midst of global pandemic, we continue to seek out ways to nourish our guests physically and emotionally.

We closed for eight weeks in the interest of public health, and we remain dedicated to ensuring the safest workplace possible for our staff. We continue to practice social distancing throughout our space and are implementing the strictest possible protocols to ensure the safety of our product and the continued good health of everyone involved in bringing it to you.

Ed. Note: Last week we noted renovations coming to Number Nine in Logan Circle. Presumably we’ll see many more as guidance comes on how bars/restaurants may reopen with social distancing?

Breaking: “situational update for today says the District’s stay at home order is extended through June 8”

From the Mayor’s Office:

“Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser issued Mayor’s Order 2020-066 to extend the District’s public emergency and public health emergency and continue to require individuals to stay home through June 8, 2020. The Mayor’s Order can be found here.

“The continued sacrifices by residents and businesses are saving lives and helping us get to the other side of this incredibly difficult time for our city,” said Mayor Bowser. “Together, by staying home a little longer, soon we will be able to reopen DC safely and sustainably.”

“Am I The Only One Who Missed That DC Is Reopening?”

“Dear PoPville,

I received a strange email from the Aveda salon in Georgetown that said, “Following the government guidelines, we will be able to reopen our salon on May 16th”.

I thought Bowser has yet to detail if she will extend the May 15 Stay-at-Home order and what our DC phased openings will look like…Did I miss something? If so, I hope I’m not the only one concerned that we’re reopening while our hospitalizations keep rising.”

Ed. Note: The email from Aveda seems very very premature. It is highly unlikely given the current state of affairs that we’ll see a reopening starting this Saturday. Of course I’ll update with the official word as soon as more info is given from the Mayor’s office.

“On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at 10:30AM a parade of buses and motor coaches will “roll” into the Nation’s Capital to highlight the essential role the industry plays in moving people, whether to school, work, events, or for travel. Approximately 700 buses are scheduled to come to the city and drive around the National Mall using three different routes. The rally is called “Motor Coaches Rolling for Awareness.” (more…)
