First the scuttlebutt, I hear that the owner of nearby Lola’s and soon to open Chesapeake Room (see below) has purchased the Veterinary clinic on the 500 block of 8th Street, SE (pictured above). More info on this space as it becomes available. As it is only scuttlebutt the purchase of the property has not yet been confirmed.
Barracks Row seems to be getting as many new bars/restaurants as H Street, NE. Georgia Ave has a bit of catching up to do…

Starfish Cafe is located at 539 8th St., SE. I was just talking to a friend about where one can find good ceviche. Is this the spot? You can see their menus here. Any must order items? Overall, how is this spot?
If this isn’t the best ceviche spot – where else is good?

New tavern coming to 501 8th Street, SE on Barracks Row. The alcohol license says it will be a tavern featuring regional and seasonal combinations of local seafood with recorded music. The occupancy is 49 with an additional 32 for the sidewalk cafe.

Banana Cafe is located at 500 8th Street, SE on Barrack’s Row. You can see their menu here. By the by, I haven’t visited Barrack’s Row (8th Street, SE) in quite a long time. Holy cow has it changed. Tons of bars and restaurants. Anyway, I’ve heard folks talk about this spot for quite a while. So any fans out there?
