“We were walking through Fort Reno park and the grass was alive with emerging cicada nymphs. Here are some photographs of one that emerged an hour or two ago. These appear to be a different species than the ones that typically emerge in June/July.”

Scientists from the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center will be banding local resident and migratory birds, just as they would when conducting research in the field. There will be games, crafts, and challenges to learn about birds. There will be a free tasting of coffee that creates bird habitat. See, hear and learn about these amazing creatures from the scientists who study them!”
