“Look for American Bitterns in shallow freshwater marshes, typically toward the margins and among reeds and other vegetation; they are rarely out in the open.”

“Riding by the Botanic Garden, I saw this hawk a few feet away having just caught a huge rat for dinner. Then it flew up into the tree and I took a few photos. Maybe not the best shot but pretty cool as my first up close hawk sighting!”

“This was my morning’s beautiful ‘wake up call ‘ …a red-shouldered hawk vocalizing outside my window in a tall poplar tree. They are known to be quite loud and it did it’s job! (I got up and grabbed my camera!)”
