“Dear PoPville,

I live in a late 1930s brick wardman style home with a flat rubber roof. After it rains I notice this small debris washes off the main roof onto the roof over our back room and eventually down the gutter. I don’t think it’s mortar because motar is usually finer as it erodes, this stuff is a little coarser than kosher salt. Given the number of similar houses in the area, I’m wondering if anyone knows what it is?”

“Dear PoPville,

Is it just me or did a lot of dc smell like there was an electrical fire yesterday? When I got off the metro at archives there were 4 firefighters in the metro. Then all day outside my office (right outside the metro) it smelled like some sort of burning chemical/electrical fire. Then I smelled it when I got off the metro after work at Georgia Ave.”

“Dear Popville, do you know the story about this building at 14th and Parkwood? Construction stopped years ago (on google map time lapse you can see construction started in 2014, and it’s been sitting like this since 2016). In an otherwise rapidly renovated area, why is this frozen in time? Wondering if it violates the height restriction because the door appears to be on the smaller street of Parkwood rather than on 14th. Does anyone know the story? Will it remain like this forever?”

You want amenities?!? We got amenities!!

When news is breaking every 15 minutes…

Mail room. SW Waterfront. Bonkers. We are doomed.

“Dear PoPville,

I was walking down Connecticut this morning when I heard a large explosion sound coming from the intersection at Columbia Rd. I turned to see the driver of a 43 bus getting off the bus to examine the bus. Thankfully, another 43 pulled up moments later, and all of the passengers from the first bus offloaded and boarded the much coveted 43.”

“Dear PoPville,

I find them all up and down U and 9th Streets, usually on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Literally dozens on the street and all over the sidewalk every weekend morning! There are varying colors, sizes, and styles. I am so intrigued.”

I was gonna guess glow sticks but the blue one doesn’t look like one. Somebody enlighten us please!!
