Just noticed these new (to me) VEO scooters and e-bikes and was wondering if anyone had used them and how they compare to other scooters/bikes. But then I thought what the hell – let’s expand the question a bit for a proper FQotD – how do you get around town mostly these days? Bus? Bike? Car? Walk? Scooter? Metro? Uber/Lyft? Moped? Other?

“Dear PoPville,

I rented a free2move car over the weekend. I actually decided to do a nice deed and put gas in the car for the next person because I had time, something I always try to do. When I submitted my gas receipt for an account credit, I got an email stating I had 30 days to use the credit. I was super disappointed as there was never a 30-day use restriction on using the credit before and it was never announced nor was I personally notified of the change. I don’t need to rent a car every month so I just threw away $25. (more…)

“Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), the co-chair of the Quiet Skies Caucus and a member of the Subcommittee on Aviation, today introduced a bill to require helicopters in District of Columbia airspace to fly at the maximum altitude permitted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), with limited exceptions. The exceptions would include active law enforcement investigations, transporting the president and vice president, and safety. (more…)
