“Free2Move Public Service Announcement”

“Dear PoPville,

I rented a free2move car over the weekend. I actually decided to do a nice deed and put gas in the car for the next person because I had time, something I always try to do. When I submitted my gas receipt for an account credit, I got an email stating I had 30 days to use the credit. I was super disappointed as there was never a 30-day use restriction on using the credit before and it was never announced nor was I personally notified of the change. I don’t need to rent a car every month so I just threw away $25.

So not only do customers have to endure filthy cars that aren’t maintained properly, we have to deal with increasingly deceptive business practices that are not announced. They also now don’t let you use a gas credit and a “coupon code” on the same rental. They keep chipping away at anything good about the service. I will now never put gas in the car unless I’m out and then it will be only enough to get me home. Was anyone notified of these changes?”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
