Ed. Note: Last week we noted that the Judiciary Square metro had fallen.

Thanks, I think, to Michael for sending from the Gallery Place metro Friday:

“This is in Gallery Place Metro Station on the Green/Yellow line platform. This one was completely unfazed as I walked right up to it. His buddy watched me from the sidelines.”

From the H Street Runners:

“Make 2023 the year you leave the streetcar in your dust. To celebrate (almost to the day) the 7 year anniversary of the H Street Corridor Streetcar, come join us for our 5th annual “Running of the Streetcar” !!!

Think you’re faster than the streetcar? We bet you are, but come find out for sure on Sunday, April 30. Just think of the famed Running of the Bulls at Pamplona, except for this event your goal is to outpace a big, red mechanical beast — H Street’s infamous streetcar!

Date: April 30th
Time: 2:00 pm
Location: Wunder Garten

“Dear PoPville,

Hey Popville – I am about to move abroad to an area where I will need to drive, but automatic-transmission vehicles are scarce. I am looking for any leads on local instructors skilled at doing what no one in my family could: teaching me to drive a manual transmission. Thanks in advance!”

Good thing no one was sitting in those benches or walking their dogs. (more…)
