hahaha I spotted this guy this morning. To be clear this is not photoshopped (all I did was black out the numbers) there was a red taped arrow right on the car pointing to Maryland with the bumper stickers.  Just owning it.  I love it.

I needed this.

Jose Andres shares the good word from Uber:

“We will be offering free rides to/from the kitchen in DC and more cities soon! Thank you @Uber for joining @WCKitchen and #ChefsForFeds helping to feed our unpaid federal employees during this crisis!”

Also from LYFT:

“Lyft, whose mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation, and the United Way today announced the activation of Relief Rides in the DC area for those workers impacted by the ongoing government shutdown. Now through Feb. 2, impacted individuals can contact DC 2-1-1 for a ride code to get two free rides up to $10.* (more…)

“I just witnessed the end of a strange incident. From what I could make out – The white car attempted to drive around a large truck on K Street, drove on to the sidewalk of Farragut Square, crushed a metal trashcan and then cut the truck off almost smashing into a cop car. I don’t think anyone was hurt. No idea what they were thinking.”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m hoping you can help me solve a metro mystery:

I commute in the afternoon from Crystal City up to Mt. Vernon Square on the Yellow Line. At Archives station, I almost always see a few people get off and seemingly wait for a train to come in the opposite direction. Why would they do this? If they were switching to the Green line south toward Branch Ave, why wouldn’t they get off at the stop before–L’Enfant? I can’t seem to figure out a logical reason but there are always a few people who do this.

I realize this is a relatively unimportant question related to the Metro but I’ve always been curious. Any thoughts?”

In other metro ad news a few readers report:

“Heard my first audio ad (for Some school/program at GWU and Megabus ads) on an S bus this morning–I vaguely remember hearing something about this a while ago, but had yet to encounter one until now. Was weird.”
