Parking in bike lanes is completely prohibited under our user agreement and we will work to find out what went wrong here. We take numerous steps to prevent improper parking and promote safe riding and we will continue to improve our systems here in DC to prevent unfortunate instances like this one in the future.”

Jason wrote around 7:30: “Should see the car accident at Michigan Ave and North Capitol. Some rammed the car so hard the car is up in the air about 6-7′”
G reports around 11pm: “Found this car “parked” on top of another at the corner of S St and 7th St NW. Called the cops. Really contributing to the bad Maryland driver rap. The Wonderbread Factory can’t catch a break!”

Except for being a little shaken up, we are all doing well. We are also happy that our building was quickly secured with a temporary door and we are able to get back to normal!

Yikes, thanks to Alex for sending at 11:21am: “Someone crashed into the lobby of the Drake on 17th and Mass and drove away. My dad lives in the building. He said a car drove the wrong way up 17th, got on the sidewalk, hit the cars that were parked on the street, crashed into the building and drove off.

“Car accident near Howard Barnes & Noble. Walked past a bit late and first responders were on the scene. Looks like a metrobus may have been involved because it was also stopped with flashers on. Nearly witnessed another accident when some idiot in an SUV started honking and went in to head on traffic to get around the bus!”
