The Washington Nationals are proud to combine these two iconic features, today revealing the club’s cherry blossom-themed City Connect uniforms. The Nationals are the first of seven clubs participating in this year’s Nike MLB City Connect Series.

Designed in partnership with Nike, the uniform’s creative elements weave a powerful connection between the team and the region it represents. The architectural typeface represents the city’s strength, while the tonal floral toile is a symbol of its beauty. The pink and ivory color palette, which evokes the feeling of spring in D.C., is set against a dark anthracite background. Cherry blossom petals and branches, as well as the city flag, are prominently displayed, showcasing the pride the Nationals have for their hometown. (more…)

It belongs to Mr. National, Ryan Zimmerman.”

From Nationals on MASN: “The Nationals will retire Ryan Zimmerman’s No. 11 on June 18, Mark Lerner announced on MASN.”

National League All-Star (2018) and Nats World Series Champion, Sean Doolittle is officially coming back!!

The good news is official!! From the Nats:

“The Washington Nationals agreed to terms on a one-year contract with left-handed pitcher Sean Doolittle and placed right-handed pitcher Joe Ross on the 60-day Injured List with a right elbow burn spur removal on Wednesday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

Doolittle, 35, returns to the Nationals where he recorded 75 saves and a 3.03 ERA in 147 games across parts of four seasons (2017-20) in Washington. A National League All-Star in 2018 and a World Series Champion in 2019, Doolittle’s 75 saves as a National are tied for eighth-most in a career in Nationals history (2005-pres.). (more…)

Nationals Game Suspended After Three People Shot Outside Nats Park around 9:30pm Saturday Night

“As a result of the shooting incident, tonight’s (Saturday) Nationals game has been suspended.”

“At approximately 9:30 PM, 1D officers heard sounds of gunshots coming from S.Capitol & O Street SW. 1D officers responded to the location and found 1 adult female victim, suffering from a graze wound to her back. Minutes later 1D officers got information that two additional victims drove themselves to a local hospital and received treatment for injuries sustained at this location. All of the victims are in stable condition. The lookout for the involved suspect vehicle is for a dark colored sedan, unknown make, model or tag number. Last scene fleeing at a high rate of speed southbound on S. Capitol Street SW. This incident is not related or has anything to do with the Nationals stadium. (more…)
