Though Mt. Pleasant has so many amazing ones, this double sided sculpture is my favorite one.

Closeups after the jump. (more…)

Thanks to a reader for sending. Though I think I prefer the sweater addition from a couple of years ago. Also happy 92 birthday to the statue. You can see the full ceremony from Jan. 6th 1922 here.
“Ceremony of unveiling a statue of Jeanne d’Arc in Meridian Park. Crowd assembled for the ceremony. President and Mrs Warren G Harding arrive at ceremony. Officials speak at stand. Unveiling of Jeanne d’Arc statue. Flags on poles. Man places bouquet and flowers in front of the statue. Secretary of War, John W Weeks speaks. Side view of statue. Various officials speak at ceremony.”

Makes me smile every time I notice it in Columbia Heights.

The Einstein Memorial is located outside the National Academy of Sciences building at 2101 Constitution Ave, NW.
“The right to search for truth implies also a duty; one must not conceal any part of what one has recognized to be true.”
After Jeanne d’Arc in Meridian Hill Park – I think this is my favorite sculpture in the district:

My favorite porch from Ledroit Park adds a painting to their awesome porch.

Don’t see too many window sculptures like this one. Also from Georgetown.

Cool new sculpture has gone up on New York Ave, NE.

With the new Elevation building going up in the foreground:
