Mount Pleasant.

These have been trickling in pretty steadily since March but I think it’s time to officially kick off the season. A reader writes:
“Saw this beauty on Capitol Hill yesterday near the Northeast Neighborhood Library. Not a record, I’m sure, but pretty impressive.”
Stay tuned for the elusive August specimens that occasionally pop up but in the meantime if you see a good one, send an email to [email protected] with the location where you saw it. Thanks!

Big news from Politico:
“Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Wednesday will announce plans to both keep Alexander Hamilton on the front of the $10 bill and to knock Andrew Jackson off the front of the $20 in favor of Harriet Tubman, sources tell POLITICO.”

From Duffy’s:
“Come have a drink with a Clydesdale at Duffy’s [2106 Vermont Ave, NW] on Wed April 6th 6pm – 8pm”
Rest of the week’s Clydesdales activities here.

A reader reports:
“This house is at the corner of 4th and R NW and has been vacant for a year or so, and the porch is often occupied by squatters. A development group bought it a few months ago and I guess are in the “discovery” phase of planning. A couple weeks ago, we woke up to find this inventive structure. For a moment we thought some resourceful squatters built a home, but then thought “who has doors to spare?” The developer’s squatter barricade has been an effective defense so far.”

Hahaha this is pretty awesome:
“It looks like Lollapalooza is being held in Blagden Alley this year – as compensation for the Nuclear Summit aggravation. I hear that Daft Punk is headlining Saturday night!”
