“And I will offer again Free Sandwiches to the poor men and women of the federal government, republicans and democrats, at every restaurant of mine in DC for lunch until they get paid again!”

So if a shutdown does happen, as is looking likely, how long do you think this one will last? Much longer as the president suggests in his tweet.

Thanks to Meredith for sending:

“On a cement post on Virginia Ave right outside the Saudi Embassy is “Khashoggi Way”. Should be interesting to see how long it lasts…it was still there this morning when I walked by it again.”

Washingtonian reported last week after the first sign went up:

Don’t expect this to be the last of the Khashoggi Way signs. “We’re going to be placing them all over town,” [organizer Claude] Taylor says, adding that the point was to bring “some continued light and attention and focus to this issue to make sure people understand that the US government, Donald Trump, the Secretary of State have played a role and are thus complicit in the coverup of Jamal Khashoggi’s murder.”

That’d be former U.S. Senator and Secretary of State John Kerry. And of course husband to Teresa Heinz of that Heinz family. What a bonkers way to start the holidays. And 2018 just gets more surreal:

“Dear PoPville,

Can we talk about how a woman who was home alone making dinner had to lock herself in a closet and call 911 because people were trying to break down her door to protest a person they just don’t agree with? Is this what our city has come to?”

The Washington Post reported:

“It wasn’t a protest. It was a threat,” said [Fox News host Tucker] Carlson, who is often denounced by critics, particularly liberal ones, for his rhetoric about immigrants and minorities on his Fox News show. “They weren’t protesting anything specific that I had said. They weren’t asking me to change anything. They weren’t protesting a policy or advocating for legislation. … They were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in.”

Wendy reported:

“Voting time: 35 minutes. From walking in the door to getting my #IVoted sticker. (COLUMBIA HEIGHTS EDUCATION CAMPUS)”

One reader reported that:

“Elderly man collapsed at voting station Barnard Elementary this morning about 8 am. Voters gave CPR and AED until paramedics arrived.”

My wife said Murch elementary voting took about 20 minutes.

What neighborhood did you vote in and how long did it take? For those who didn’t vote this morning (or early) when do you plan on voting?

Ed. Note: I voted early and it took about 3 minutes :)
