bulldog

“Dear PoPville,

Was at Friendship Animal Hospital and this little guy was there. The people who brought him in had found him in Potomac, Maryland off River Road. He has a microchip but it’s not registered. Adorable, French Bulldog, tongue hangs out on left side. If someone lost him, they should call Friendship Animal Hospital.”

found pup

“Dear PoPville,

I was walking my dog this morning and came across this distinguished gentleman (he’s a black and brown dachshund) cruising the streets by himself. He was found on the 600 block of F St NE wearing a blue collar with no tag. We brought him to Union Vet to be scanned and he has a chip but it is not registered. If anybody recognizes him they they can contact me at sam.zivin(at)gmail.com.”

“Dear PoPville,

My dog Echo ran after being spooked by another dog on Wed June 8 evening. She has now been missing over 40 hours. I am a US foreign service officer who adopted her while I was posted in Sri Lanka. Echo has an interesting history as a street dog swept up in a city cleanup ahead of a Commonwealth heads meeting who was rescued from awful conditions in captivity with her puppies. She has been my baby for 2 years. We moved to Fairlington (near Shirlington) only a week ago. I have been advised to spread the news far afield since beagles are big travelers.

She is tricolored beagle mix, mostly black with white chest and paws and gold markings. About 40 lbs and 2 feet tall. Was wearing a collar with a green name tag, harness and leash when she ran. Please contact Sheela at 7038250620.

“Dear PoPville,

We can only offer $1,000 but we hope to raise awareness that dog theft is a reality and anyone that buys a dog without papers may very well be buying a stolen dog.”

“Dear PoPville,

I found a female yorkie mix in SW DC this morning and clearly belongs to humans but was roaming the streets without a leash, human friend or tags. I’ve already reported her to Washington Humane, but hoping more exposure might her home safe & sound.

SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON, DC FOUND DOG: small terrier mix female found this morning 6/8 at the intersection of 3rd & M St SW. Collar but no tags. Friendly. (202) 341-1773 or [email protected]. Not microchipped”

bunny

“Dear PoPville,

Last evening I found a very cute orange bunny that is clearly an escaped pet. It was hiding under a car on the 700 block of Shepherd street NW, near New Hampshire Ave in Petworth. It is not wearing tags but is very friendly towards people. Since we have a very curious dog in our home the rabbit is currently being cared for by friend who works at City Paws. Would love to reunite this bunny with his/her family! I don’t imagine it traveled too far from home!”

s st dog
17th and S St, NW

“Dear PoPville,

Yesterday around 7:30 p.m. my friend’s dog Cobalt and a Husky (we think its name is Rex but aren’t sure) got into a fight at the S Street dog park and in the scuffle the husky bit my friend’s right forearm, just above her wrist.

Unfortunately, the phone number provided by Rex’s owner (we believe her name is Dita) is a dead end. At the strong urging of my doctors, we are just trying to locate the dog’s owner to find out if Rex has his vaccines and records.

My friend would have to start the rabies vaccine tomorrow if she can’t get this information. If anyone knows Rex and his owner I’d greatly appreciate your help in tracking down this info so we can hopefully avoid a painful and expensive procedure.”

“Dear PoPville,

We found a lost dog in our front yard on Friday at 13th Street and Madison NW (5700 block of 13th Street), near the Georgia Ave Walmart. The dog is a friendly black and white female pit bull-mix. She is wearing a black collar with no tags, and does not have a microchip. We have reported her to Washington Humane Society and DC Animal Control, but they don’t have any matching lost dog reports.

We are keeping her at our house for now but hope to reunite her with her owners.

Readers can contact keltonwilliams1(at)gmail.com if they have any info please.”
