Ed. Note: On May 14th an off leash attacked a beaver (that had to be euthanized) in Rock Creek Park, Park Police still looking for info.

It’s impossible to got to any public park these days without getting accosted by off leash dogs. At Tregaron, dogs must be leashed for a simple reason- the area is a fragile urban ecosystem and dogs are the leading cause of damage to it.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect and a vehicle in reference to Armed Robbery (Gun) and Assault With Intent to Commit Robbery offenses that occurred on Monday, July 3, 2023, in the First District.
Assault With Intent to Commit Robbery: At approximately 10:28 am, the suspect approached the victim, who was walking their dog, at Maine Avenue and 7th Street, Southwest. The suspect attempted to take the dog and assaulted the victim. After the failed attempt, the suspect fled the scene. CCN: 23-107-042
Armed Robbery (Gun): At approximately 10:30 am, the suspects approached the victim, who was walking their dogs, in the Unit block of V Street, Southwest. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, assaulted the victim, and took the victim’s dogs. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle. CCN: 23-107-016
The dogs are described as French Bulldogs. The male dog is 1 ½ years old and goes by the name of, “Uno.” The female dog is 5 months old and goes by the name of, “Cartier.” (more…)

I live in Columbia heights and there has been for (not even kidding) 2 months a dog in the alley behind my apartment that barks CONSTANTLY. It is caged in the back of a home, and seems to be out there all the time. (more…)
