Acknowledging you’re a DC- focused entity, BUT I wanted to email a little plea to our local neighbors to consider fostering animals from Prince George’s County. Currently, the county still has a breed ban which means that any dog labeled pit bull can only be adopted or fostered by residents outside the county. Currently pittie advocacy group End PG BSL is hard at work to end the breed ban and improve shelter conditions, and we are hoping for the best for our loyal companions. But until then, like so many shelters, the county shelter is suffering from overcrowding, and is therefore euthanizing all owner-surrenders on intake, and has taken actions such as euthanizing all sick dogs before local partner rescues were able to pull any out. Every other day rescues are getting lists of dogs on the urgent list which are only being given 24-48 hours to find a new home. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District is asking for the community’s assistance to find a French Bulldog that went missing after the vehicle he was inside was stolen in Northwest.

On Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 3:01 a.m., the victim parked their car in the 1900 block of 14th Street, Northwest. When the victim returned, they discovered their vehicle had been taken. The victim’s 4-year-old French Bulldog named Recardito was inside the vehicle. (more…)
