“Dear PoPville,

My husband and I were running in Rock Creek this morning and found the cat below in a tree. Well, actually, the park ranger and some other folks found him, but we volunteered to take him to a vet to see if he was chipped. Anyway, long story short – he IS chipped, but we’ve had no dice thus far contacting the owners. The chip service tells us his name is Ace. He is the sweetest cat ever, and it seems like he has been well-loved.”

If anyone knows Ace please contact alison.roach1980(at)gmail(dot)com

From a press release:

With the end of the outdoor swimming season, this annual event provides dogs with a one day opportunity to partake in the pools, enjoy a swim and play fun aquatics games. “Dear PoPville,

My fiancée and I live in mount pleasant and a cat followed us home into our apartment this evening (tues 8/20). She is declawed and although she has a collar she has no tags, which leads us to believe she is an indoor cat that has gotten lost. She was very thirsty, and we are hoping for some help in finding her owners.”

UPDATE – Owner Found – thanks everyone!

“Dear PoPville,

Are dates up yet for doggie swim day 2013 in the local pools?”

I’m told this year it will be the Sat. after labor day (Sept. 7th) but they are still finalizing which pools will host. Last year it was at Upshur and Francis pools but I’ll update when it’s been finalized.

“Tonight at 7:35 pm, Bailey, a black 20-pound terrier mix ran out of the lobby of our apartment building lobby (19th Street and Columbia Rd. NW). She was last seen near the former Chinese embassy residence at Connecticut and Kalorama. Bailey has a microchip, and is wearing her tags w contact number, and she’s dragging a reflective purple leash. She’s scared of everything and everyone, and beloved of her human family.”
