“On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at approximately 6:10 pm, Second District Officers were in the area of the 3300 block of Water Street, NW, Georgetown Waterfront Park, conducting an investigation when they observed an adult male jump into the water. MPD Harbor Patrol Officers responded to the scene and pulled the man out of the water. He was conscious and breathing when he was rescued. The man was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.”

“Dear PoPville,

I think I saw that big cat in Georgetown last week – it was out and seemed scared. Pretty sure it’s an Abyssinian. I posted about it to multiple local Facebook groups for lost animals, but couldn’t report it because it didn’t have a tag and skittered off.

I remembered at the time thinking that if it was less scared than when I saw it, it’d probably be absolutely terrifying to any local wildlife or cats due to its size.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in connection with a Burglary One and Second Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2019, in the 1300 block 30th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 1:30 am, the suspect gained entry to a private residence. Once inside, the suspect sexually assaulted a female victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Bertrand Joseph Lebeau. He is described as a black male with bald or short hair, and a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt. He may be operating a black 2017 Honda CRV with DC tags FL5215. (more…)


Unfortunately I was out of town over the weekend and received many messages about crime reports over the weekend. While I try to tweet these out as I get them, I’m posting them here for posterity and our historical record. Thanks to all who messaged me and apologies for the late reply.

From Friday:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a Burglary One and Second Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2019, in the 1300 block 30th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 1:30 AM, the suspect gained entry to a private residence. Once inside, the suspect sexually assaulted a female victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years in age, with bald or short hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727 9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

From Saturday August 31st:

“The First District is currently conducting an investigation into shots being fired in the 1100 block of I St SE. At this time no one has been struck. A vehicle in the area was struck.

The suspects involved in this incident have been described as 2 black male juveniles riding a blue and black Revel Moped. (more…)
