1517 Connecticut Avenue, NW

Oh no!!! Thanks to all who messaged us the Washington Business Journal article by Alex Koma:

“It’s official: Kramerbooks owner Steve Salis says he’s ready to move the hybrid bookshop-cafe out of its Dupont Circle home.

He doesn’t have a new location to announce yet, but this would mark the end of Kramer’s 44-year run in the neighborhood.”

STAY TUNED.

18th and S Street, NW

Thanks to Watson for sending what looks like an oven under there: “construction signs on 18th and S at the old Rosemary’s Thyme Bistro!”

Back in February which feels like a million years ago, we posted confirmation about Pupatella taking over the old Rosemarys Thyme space.

Stay tuned.

Thanks to JoeNotExotic (love that name, by the by) for sending:

“Does anyone in DC know what’s going on with Firefly? I will cry super big tears if it’s gone forever.”

Ed. Note
: Last week we noted renovations coming to Number Nine in Logan Circle. Presumably we’ll see many more as guidance comes on how bars/restaurants may reopen with social distancing?

a reader reports:

“Around 0845 this morning there was what sounded like an explosion in an alley way on R Street and 16th NW. There is currently significant police activity around the alley and there is a garbage truck stuck in the alley surrounded by what appears to be black soot/residue. The sanitation workers looked pretty shaken up but physically looked ok (save any hearing issues).”

Thanks to Fin for sending: “Great Wall on 14th street reopened for take out and delivery. Got me some delicious spicy MaPo Tofu last night. They were so happy to see us. We were even happier to see them.”

And thanks to BSmith for sending the above: “lunch today from KOSTAS at Greek Deli – made my day!”
