“Following in the footsteps of last year’s inaugural Opera Outside event, Washington Concert Opera (WCO) will stage another performance this year again at Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park in partnership with Washington Parks & People. The performance is free to the public and will take place at 11:00 am on October 27th, 2018 near the Joan of Arc statue on the top field. “Heads up, definitely a shooting [shots fired] in Columbia Heights last night around 9 pm. I heard 4-5 gunshots pop off then minutes later sirens and a helicopter overhead. On Columbia between 14th and a 11th.”

“5 shots at 11th and Columbia NW. No one/nothing hit.”

“On Friday, October 5th, 2018, at approximately 5:45 PM, Fifth District Officers received a call for the sound of gunshots near 15th and D Streets, NE. Officers responded to the location and located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical assistance was requested, and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Two (2) individuals have been detained in reference to this shooting, and two (2) firearms have been recovered.
